St. Anne Catholic Church is home to many families that homeschool their children, from preschoolers all the way through high school seniors. Religious Education:
It is the obligation of all parents to ensure their children receive proper training in the Catholic faith. The Diocese of Savannah and this parish require that all children in 1st through 8th Grades must be enrolled in Religious Education through parish CCD classes, Catholic schools, or approved Catholic homeschool program.
If you are a registered homeschooler with the Georgia Department of Education and choose to do a homeschool program, you must register your child as receiving their Religious Education via homeschool curriculum in order to receive credit as a subsitute for the parish CCD Program.
Sacramental Preparations:
All children who are preparing to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation at St. Anne Catholic Church are required to be enrolled in Religious Education classes for two years prior to the reception of the sacraments.
You must be registered for 2 full years in order for your child to receive their sacraments.
In the first year, this requirement can be fulled through parish CCD classes, Catholic school enrollment, or completion of a full year using an approved Catholic homeschool program.
In the second year, children who intend to receive Holy Communion or Confirmation at St. Anne Catholic Church must be enrolled in parish Religious Education classes. Homeschooling parents may choose Sunday CCD classes or an approved homeschool Catholic Sacrament Preparation curriculum. They are also required to attend all retreats, special events, and have their mass booklets stamped after every mass.
