Saint Anne Catholic Church Funeral Planning Information for Families
We know that funeral planning can be stressful and emotional. We are here to help during this difficult time.
Our commitment to you:
We will pray for the happy repose of the soul of your loved one.
We will pray for you and your family.
We will accompany you during the planning process and answer any questions you have.
We will ensure the funeral glorifies God and honors your loved one’s faith.
Funeral Mass Guidelines:
Funeral Masses will take place in the Main Church.
Eulogies are not permitted at the funeral Mass but can be arranged at the visitation.
Lectors will be provided by the church.
Funeral Masses have one reading and one psalm. The Gospel is chosen by the priest.
Stipends and Fees:
An offering to the celebrant (priest/deacon) is customary. The amount is decided by the family.
If working with a funeral home, music fees will be discussed with the director. If you are not working with a funeral home and would like to have music at the Mass, there is an additional fee.
Music:
If you choose to have music at the funeral Mass, you may pick from a list of approved options for the:
Procession
Offertory Song
Communion Hymn
Procession
A Spotify playlist of these song options is linked on this webpage.
Optional Offertory Collection:
The family may choose to have a collection taken up during the Mass.
All money collected during this offertory will be used as stipends for future Masses offered for your loved one. Offering Masses for the repose of their soul is a powerful way to pray for your loved one after they have passed.
Optional Reception:
The Bereavement Committee sponsored by the St. Anne Council of Catholic Women would like to offer a simple luncheon reception after the funeral.
There is no cost, but donations to the CCW are appreciated.
